Our Faith, My Journey

I remember one time when I was really struggling with transportation. My old car had finally given out, and I needed a new one just to get to work and take care of daily life. I prayed specifically for the money to buy a car. I figured that was the most logical way—God would provide the funds, and I’d go out and find something modest that fit my budget.

Weeks went by, and nothing happened. No unexpected check in the mail, no side job to earn extra cash. I started to feel a little desperate and honestly, a bit discouraged. I felt like I was doing everything right: praying, trusting, waiting. I even started to second-guess if I was asking for too much.

But then something completely unexpected happened. A friend reached out—someone I hadn’t talked to in a while. They told me they were getting a new vehicle and wanted to give their old car to me. I was stunned. Not only was it in great shape, but it was much nicer and more reliable than anything I could have afforded on my own. It was better than what I had planned to buy.

That experience changed the way I look at prayer. Sometimes we pray for God to answer in a certain way, and when He doesn’t, it’s easy to think He isn’t listening. But God saw what I really needed and provided in a way I never expected. Ephesians 3:20 says God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”

So if you’re waiting for an answer and it’s not coming the way you planned, don’t lose heart. Have faith. God may not always answer the way you want, but He knows what you need—and sometimes His answer is so much better than anything you could have imagined.

CLOSING PRAYER

Let’s pray:

Father God,

Thank You for being with us through every season—through doubt, disappointment, and unexpected blessings. Help us to trust You, even when we don’t understand Your ways. Give us the faith to keep praying, to keep hoping, and to keep believing that You are working for our good. Remind us that Your plans are always better than our own, and that You know what we need before we even ask.

Lord, for anyone reading this who is struggling or waiting for an answer, I ask that You give them peace, encouragement, and a fresh sense of Your presence. Strengthen our faith, and help us to rest in Your love. Thank You for caring about the big things and the little things in our lives.

We love You. We trust You.
